General Tour Information and FAQ’s
What is included in the tour price?
A knowledgeable and friendly local guide who will take care of your every need and entertain you during the tour
A brand new comfortable bike with a basket to carry your personal belongings in
A standards approved bike helmet
And most importantly, you get to visit and experience the best of Christchurch!
What to bring?
We recommend that you wear closed in shoes and comfortable clothing. There are drinking fountains on the way but you may wish to bring a bottle of water with you (which you can fit conveniently in your bike basket!)
What level of fitness is required?
There are no hills along the tour route and the guide leads you at a very leisurely pace. The tour is suitable for all fitness levels and anyone that can ride a bike. We have had people from the ages of 13 to 82 years enjoying a pedal around the city with us - even people that have not ridden bikes for years!
I have seen bike rental companies, why don't I just do the tour myself?
Our friendly and entertaining guides have a great knowledge of the city and are able to give you many local insights that you would not receive through bike hire. The tour takes you to places that you may spend too much of your valuable time trying to find yourself... and did we mention the great stories en route?
What are the guides like?
Our guides are friendly and knowledgeable locals with a passion for the Canterbury region. They enjoy the outdoors and thrive on showing people around our beautiful city, enlightening them with historical tales.
What are the bikes like?
We use new Giant bikes which are comfortable, have thick tyres, big seats, are easy to ride and lots of fun! Each bike has a bell, and a basket on the front for your camera and bag.
How many people in each group?
For safety reasons and to maximise your enjoyment we limit our tour size to 10 people.
The tour route?
For your comfort and safety we cycle through the city’s beautiful parks, on purpose built cycle paths and quiet streets. Christchurch is perfect for cycling, and our bike tour is the best way to really see the city. Click here to see the tours we currently offer.
