Ellerslie International Flower Show, Christchurch - New Zealand
It is exciting to announce that the 2010 international feature garden for the Ellerslie International Flower Show will be designed by a multi award-winning Chelsea Flower Show garden designer.

Chris Beardshaw is renowned for his formal English garden designs. He has won nine Gold and Silver Gilt Royal Horticultural Society medals, five Best in Show Awards and the People’s Choice Award at the Chelsea Flower Show two years running.

His Ellerslie 2010 garden will be a traditional English garden with lots and lots of flowers. It will draw on his love and passion for the arts and crafts period which saw the rise of some of the greatest contributors to the gardening world such as plantswoman Gertrude Jekyll and landscape architect Thomas Mawson.

The 2010 Ellerslie International Flower Show runs from 10th-14th of March and is held in Christchurch. For more information, visit www.ellerslieflowershow.co.nz

Christchurch Activities Open on Christmas Day for the Cruise Ships
Due to popular demand Christchurch City Bike Tours will be taking two hour guided bicycle tours on Christmas Day this year for those docking in Christchurch city via Cruise Ship. This proved a very popular activity last Christmas.

The bicycle ride around Christchurch is the best way to capture the lovely gardens, parks and historical buildings. The city is flat and has many purpose built cycle-ways, so it’s perfect for biking.

Highlights include – the Arts Centre, the historic Antigua Boatsheds, Christ’s College, Riccarton House and Deans Bush, Mona Vale Gardens, and New Regent St: in just two hours their guide shows you what would normally take a whole day on foot.

Comfortable retro-style bikes complete with baskets for bags and cameras as well as helmets are provided. These bikes are built for comfort, not speed!

Click here to make a booking or enquire about departure times.
