Christ's College:
There are records showing that Christ's College had rugby games on their grounds next to the Botanic Gardens in the early 1850's (although the first official rugby game in NZ was recorded in Nelson in 1870). The tour passes these grounds. This is also where Robbie Deans went to school and many past All Blacks.
Dean's Cottage:
The bike tour spends 20-minutes exploring Deans Cottage, Riccarton House and Riccarton Bush, where Wallabies coach, Robbie Deans' ancestors set up life in New Zealand in the 1840's.
What a great way to cover christchurchs' rugby and city highlights!

Gordon Ramsay, celebrity chef, restaurateur and broadcaster arrives in Christchurch for a gala dinner in June 2010.
Duco Events directors David Higgins and John McRae are excited to have finally signed Ramsay after a two-year wait. “We’re expecting a thrilling evening with Gordon Ramsay, and certainly an evening not to be missed,” said Higgins. “Not knowing exactly what to expect from the man famous for his temper and scathing outbursts in the kitchen is half of the anticipation!”
Ramsay will whip up stories as part of a keynote speech, followed by a Q & A session. Renowned for his pursuit of excellence and speaking his mind, the evening promises to be thoroughly entertaining and thought-provoking.
He is without doubt one of the best chefs in the world and has a restaurant empire spanning UK, USA, Europe, Dubai, Tokyo, South Africa, Versailles, Tuscany and Sardinia as well as the UK’s oldest independent cookery school, Tante Marie. In March of this year, Gordon Ramsay’s first Australian restaurants maze and maze Grill, opened in the heart of Australia’s food capital, Melbourne
Ramsay has been awarded a total of 16 Michelin Stars and in 2007 became one of only three chefs in the United Kingdom to hold three Michelin stars at one time. He currently ranks third in the world in terms of Michelin Stars behind Joel Robuchon and Alain Ducasse.
Guests will also enjoy a cocktail reception, three course dinner, and live entertainment. Bookings and information are available at: www.DucoEvents.co.nz

Christchurch will provide the perfect base for English rugby fans planning to travel to New Zealand for the World Cup in 2011.
Gregg Anderson, Tourism New Zealand's UK regional manager, pointed out that visitors can stay in Christchurch to see some of England's matches or arrange trips to cities such as Dunedin and Auckland.
The city also provides opportunities to take day trips to locations like Kaikoura, which is famous for its whale watching.
Visitors can also head to some of the vineyards located throughout the Canterbury region.
'What you'll see is a lot of people basing themselves in Christchurch for the match and then taking day trips and perhaps one or two overnight trips out of Christchurch, rather than spending a two- or three-week period there,' Mr Anderson said.
Due to run from 9 September to 23 October next year, the Rugby World Cup will feature matches in several locations across New Zealand.
Christchurch City Bike Tours will be running tours every day throughout this period. What a great way for fans to familirise themselves with the city!
